A story about Gertie

Gertie told me she was coming to California, and I so wanted to meet her! Luckily, the stars aligned, and I was free to run off to San Jose.

She’s fabulous! I don’t know why she’s so camera-shy, as she’s drop dead gorgeous, and so vibrant! I really wanted to spend more time with her, but had to get back to the kids. Until next time, Gertie dear!

A story about cowgirljules

This past Memorial Day Weekend I took my first trip to California, with my sisters and Esteban. Three days in San Francisco, and then on Monday we drove to San Jose and the Winchester Mystery House.

There we met up with the most lovely, most wonderful, totally awesome Jules. Can you believe this woman was willing to drive TWO HOURS just to meet me in person?

I had emailed her a description of me, focusing heavy on the camera gear details but I recognized here as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, because that one ain’t as camera shy as moi, and I dragged her outta her truck and over to introduce her to the family.

She was game for a wander through the mystery house, both inside and behind-the-scenes—[I just checked and she’s already posted her photos, so just click on her website to see her great pics of the day].

We were able to exchange some quips along the tour but our time together just flew by and before we knew it, it was time to go.

She’s a nice, funny, interesting woman who’s so tough she ain’t afraid of snakes (eek), and I’m looking forward to someday having a chance for an in-depth visit. Guess we’ll just have to arrange getting her skinny ass over to Scotland sometime soon.

Why I like Gertie

There are lots of reasons; one being that coffee talk with Gertie saves me from writing long, brain-crunching blog entries that I’d probably end up deleting anyway!

Thanks, you do make things clearer! :)

A story about Eric Hodel

I met Eric last Friday night; he left after the first couple of rounds (:<) but I enjoyed our wee conversation. I know it sounds like a curse to say that someone is “nice” BUT he really was—and he was entertaining too!

A story about Buster McLeod

I met Buster last Friday night, and he is a pretty funny guy that sees things just a little bit differently…

A story about Daniel Spils

I met Daniel briefly last Friday night (nice guy, btw); thanks to him I’ll never be able to hear “Spicy Noodle” without having a giggle. Cheers.

A story about Todd Gehman

I met Todd last Friday night and was quite impressed by his love for photography, his willingness to show us all a fun time, and his considerable talent for drinking.

Well done, man, well done.

Why I want to meet dreadtread

dreadtread and I have several common interests, which could make for some lengthy in-depth conversations!

Why I want to meet Gertie

I think it would be a really good use of a couple of hours to meet Gertie. She seems to have that unique brand of subtle yet sharp wit, appears to be very intelligent, and is probably someone I would enjoy being around.

Plus, if I ever get to visit my ancestral stomping ground…(last name Aiken)..then it seems like Gertie would be a first class area guide.

It would be simply boffo to have a chat..once I figure out how all of this high tech computer voodoo works.

Godspeed. :)

A story about Absnasm

Abs’s nice.

She’s also brilliant, confident and cheeky, has an infectious laugh, and looks just mahvahlusss in her raspberry beret. I envy the fact that she’s bold enough to take advantage of a recent opportunity to get exactly what she wants out of life.

I’m looking forward to future conversations with her…
